Our Promise

Every Mintz Garage steering wheel and interior part is built to strict standards. If something isn’t right due to a manufacturing defect, we’ll make it right.

Standard Limited Warranty — 6 Months

Coverage: For 6 months from the delivery date, Mintz Garage warrants to the original purchaser that eligible products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal, intended use.

What’s covered (examples):

  • Stitching failure (unraveling, missed stitches)

  • Leather panel separation at seams (not caused by abuse/impact)

  • Carbon-fiber clear-coat defects (peeling, abnormal delamination)

  • Cosmetic inserts or trim detaching due to adhesive failure

  • Electronic components supplied by Mintz (e.g., integrated shift lights) that fail under normal use

Remedy: At our discretion, we will repair, replace, or refund the defective product/part.

What’s Not Covered

To keep things fair and safe, the following are not considered manufacturing defects:

  • Normal wear and tear: Patina, creasing, slight dye rub, fiber matting/shine on microsuede/Alcantara-type materials, micro-swirls on clear coat, minor surface blemishes from regular handling.

  • Improper care/chemicals: Damage from alcohol/ammonia wipes, harsh solvents/cleaners, “magic erasers,” steam, or soaking; stains from sunscreen, dyes, or oils.

  • Improper installation or modification: Any damage resulting from DIY installation errors, non-approved wiring changes, trimming/sanding, or structural alterations.

  • Accident/abuse/misuse: Impact damage, punctures, burns, cuts, pet damage, water intrusion, racing incidents, or commercial misuse.

  • Environmental exposure: UV fading, heat warping from extreme conditions, moisture/mold.

  • Airbag and safety systems: Mintz Garage does not manufacture airbags. Airbag modules, clocksprings, and wiring harnesses are excluded from this warranty.

  • Non-Mintz parts/services: Issues caused by third-party parts, accessories, or services not supplied by Mintz Garage.

  • Cosmetic variations: Natural grain/texture differences in leather, slight color variances within acceptable tolerance.

Conditions & Eligibility

  • Original purchaser only; non-transferable.

  • Dated proof of purchase from Mintz Garage required.

  • Product must have been installed by a qualified professional following vehicle-specific procedures. (Keep your install receipt.)

  • Use the product as intended for street use. Track/racing use, competitive events, or stunt/drift use are excluded.

  • Any serial/ID labels must remain intact and legible.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Stop using the product if a safety concern exists.

  2. Contact us at support@mintzgarage.com with:

    • Order number and purchase date

    • Photos/video clearly showing the issue and the full product

    • A brief description of how/when the issue occurred

    • Install shop name and date (attach invoice if available)

  3. We’ll review and, if eligible, issue an RMA with return instructions.

Shipping:

  • For approved claims, we cover return shipping back to you after repair/replacement.

  • You’re responsible for shipping the item to our inspection address (we recommend insured, trackable service).

Turnaround:
Most claims are resolved within a reasonable timeframe after receipt and inspection. If parts need to be remade, we’ll provide an estimated window.

“Dead on Arrival” (DOA) Policy

If you believe your item arrived defective or damaged, notify us within 7 days of delivery with unboxing photos. We’ll prioritize your case.

Limits & Legal

This Limited Warranty is the exclusive remedy and is limited to the product’s purchase price. Mintz Garage is not liable for incidental or consequential damages where not prohibited by law. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so these limits may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may have other rights which vary by state.

Care Matters

Proper care significantly extends the life of your wheel. See our Steering Wheel Care Guide for approved cleaners and methods. Damage from improper care/chemicals is not covered.

Extended Coverage with Membership

Upgrade protection by joining Mintz Garage Club:

  • Monthly Membership ($14.99):

  • 1-Year Membership ($149): Extends the standard warranty on eligible purchases to 12 months total while your membership is active.

  • 2-Year Membership ($279): Extends the standard warranty on eligible purchases to 24 months total while your membership is active (best value).

How it works:

  • Buy or hold an active membership at the time of purchase and checkout under the same customer account/email.

  • Your eligible Mintz Garage product is covered for the membership term (12 or 24 months from delivery), subject to the same terms, exclusions, and claim process above.

  • Lapses in membership revert future purchases to the standard 6-month coverage. Previously covered items keep whatever coverage window was established at purchase.
